Montage It! Week 3

The Flipbook and Sketching:

The task due in week 3 of the workshop presented a very new challenge and introduced us to the third part of the workshop: The flipbook. My draft attempt that I presented in this studio did not respond to the intentions and of the task or fulfill the criteria. I focussed on a sectional presentation of the space, exploring from a 3rd person viewpoint the way in which my character could explore and use the space. This however, did not effectively show the interior, or the feeling and response one would get from the space. Consequently, for the final submission I needed to scrap the work I did for this weeks presentation and start with a fresh outlook on this task. This put me slightly behind the schedule of the course and led to myself being overworked in the final week of the workshop.

During this week I also began work on sketching over the top of the montages, adding to the photo of the models, to create and articulate the space and form of the design. These sketches continued to be worked upon through the use of tracing paper, as i focused on highlighting the flowing contours of the rock ledge as well as the wide opening that allowed a connection between the space and the ocean
