In Class:
Week 3 was dedicated to a detailed model of the interior and exterior facade of the Fisher House. The in class task provided a practice for the full model to be done at home, as it simply concentrated on the small detail of the window seat. This in class task helped me a lot as in particular it showed me that i needed to make very precise plans for the model and also that I should treat the exterior facade as two 1mm thick Balsa wood slices. This would lead to a neater finish and cleaner connections between the different facades.
Take Home:
This take home task required the most amount of work, and aso the greatest challenge in terms of it's size and organisation. Planning beforehand allowed this task to be completed in a more time effective way, as my time was limited having had to redoe the siting task from the week earlier in this week as well. The task focused on the experience that one feels within the building, and consequenty a focuse must be placed on the interior detail and in particular the perspective that the photos must be taken from, in order to capture the true feeling and flow of the design. This model in particular stressed the importance of models in the design process as models of this size and detail truly give an accurate representation of the intricacy and in particular the experience of the building. On reflection, some of the interior could have been attatched in a more secure way and in greater detail to provide an even more realistic communication, however this was made difficult due to time constraints.
